Information SwiftSOS Uses
SwiftSOS requires certain permissions to function:
- SMS – to send emergency alerts to your trusted contacts.
- Location (GPS) – to include your location in the alert message.
- Microphone – to record audio during emergencies.
- Internet access – to send email alerts using your Gmail account.
These permissions are used only when an emergency trigger occurs. SwiftSOS does not monitor or transmit your data outside of those functions.
Gmail Credentials
SwiftSOS uses a Gmail App Password (not your normal password) to send email alerts. This App Password is stored encrypted on your device only and is never shared with us or any external server.
What SwiftSOS Does Not Do
- Does not collect analytics or usage data.
- Does not share information with advertisers or third parties.
- Does not run a backend server — all actions happen directly on your phone.
User Responsibility
- SMS alerts use your own airtime/SMS bundle.
- Email alerts require an active internet connection.
- For reliability, you must allow SwiftSOS to ignore battery optimization.
